Hang Kee Dessert was born in New York's Chinatown in June 1992. Two Hong Kong dessert chefs, the Li brothers, crossed the ocean and brought authentic Hong Kong and Cantonese desserts to the other side of the Pacific, successively opening branches in Chinatown and other areas of New York. New York Hang Kee has always imported tropical fruits from Southeast Asia and adhered to Hong Kong's traditional handmade techniques, allowing customers to enjoy authentic Hong Kong-style original desserts. At the same time, incorporating European and American pastry flavors, they developed many new-style desserts, which were well received by both Chinese and foreigners in Chinatown.
From 2003 to 2010, Hang Kee successively opened branches in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Malaysia.
In early 2012, Hong Kong Gangji Investment Company (Hong Kong * Cultural Catering Investment Company) together with the founding family of Hang Kee brought Hang Kee Hong Kong-style desserts back to China, leading to the establishment of Guangzhou Gangji Catering Management Co., Ltd.
In July 2012, Hang Kee opened a direct-operated store in the Huacheng Square shopping mall in Zhujiang New Town, near the iconic Canton Tower in Guangzhou, and invited New York fashion interior designer DARRY willson to design the first direct-operated store in mainland China.
Guangzhou Gangji has internationally advanced chain operation and management experience, and the company has a complete service organizational structure. Departments such as the Dessert Development Center, Market Information Department, Marketing Planning Department, and Store Evaluation Department all work to maintain the market competitiveness of each Hang Kee store in its local business district.
