职责描述:
The Seed Operations Lead – China is responsible fthe strategic oversight & management of functional operational activities at the 3 R&D sites in China including but not limited to the following:
• Effectively leading the execution of trialing, nursery, operational activities at the site in a timely, accurate, cost-effective way to deliver a healthy product pipeline.
• Developing the team, improving processes, driving adoption of new technologies daily operations to bring the highest quality products to market in an efficient, safe, environmentally sound manner.
• Budget planning & execution, capital improvement strategy, CBRE management, rolling stock maintenance quality operations fthe overall Seed Operations across China R&D fVegetables.
• Stakeholder engagement & management ftransparency of operations (KPIs) & overall operational health of site & programs.
Dimensions
• People: # of direct reports 3-5 with overall responsibility fup to ~30 third party labemployees
• Geographic Scope: 3 sites in China fR&D Vegetable operations
Accountabilities
Work in a team-based environment to effectively manage deliver overall operational objectives that allow delivery against commercial portfolio targets:
Resources
• Site operational budgets: Plan, execute deliver to defined R&D standards, within allocated budget
• Ensure/propose investment in capabilities infrastructure at site level in alignment with R&D strategy R&D capital processes; management of CBRE relationship ensuring outcomes are met
• Define site level resource availability, align resources plans according to strategic priorities, assure that demresources are well balanced within the stations
• Contribute to develop continuously unit costs fall operational tasks conducted at the site level
• Technology implementation implementation at local level – aligned with global R&D strategy
Operations
• Ensure proper implementation timely execution of trialing nursery operations
• Own optimize trialing nursery delivery (Quality, quantity, timeliness)
• Lead QM Continuous Improvement
• Ensure delivery according to plan fall crop activities
• Ensure operational activities are conducted in accordance with company HSE & phytosanitary standards
• Facilitate alignment meetings team meetings to increase transparency & engagment
• Delivery of KPI’s to measure work performed, assess/analyze, use this information to propose productivity improvements
• Facilitate the launch of high throughput phenotyping other automation & digital capabilities in line with the global strategy
People
• Line management of the site leads & HSE
• Ensure motivation engagement of the China R&D community in collaboration with other functions on site.
• Ensure people management processes, people capabilities succession plans are in place
• HSE Code of Conduct responsibility fthe operations team.

Reporting / Communication

任职资格:
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
Critical knowledge
• Advanced degree in agronomy breeding with good understanding of agriculture, crop management breeding principles; post-graduate qualification preferred
• Thorough understanding of R&D processes sufficient knowledge to identify critical issues engage effectively with people to solve problems
• Knowledge of Syngenta functions supporting R&D, those systems relevant fportfolio / project management finance is a plus
• Sound understanding of commercial business needs
• Sound understating of agronomy, plant breeding, logistics, operations, automation, seed physiology modelling planning tools.
• Knowledge of activity-based costing basic accounting principles
• Knowledge of automation, high throughput phenotyping, & other digital tools.
Critical experience
• Operate in a team setting. Successfully function both as a manager ment
• 5+ years experience in the seed industry Agriculture (vegetable experience preferred)
• Experience in agronomy, seed physiology, plant breeding / field research
• Proven record of leading a dispersed team of highly qualified technical experts in a matrixed reporting environment
• Expert working knowledge of R&D workflows operations
