Job Summary:
● The Supplier Quality Engineering Manager creates value by building an effective team, by managing daily operations, by supporting initiatives that enable the function, business unit customer to achieve its business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
● Build strong relationships with all critical partners to improve quality business outcomes, including: external suppliers, external customers, internal customers stakeholders, such as Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering; coach mentCummins professionals on how to strengthen the soft skills required to develop effective relationships.
● Establish team capability fan assigned Product Category through coaching, mentoring, development of critical competencies required to deliver Product Category specific results. Invest in the Supplier Quality talent pipeline by providing growth opportunities fSupplier Quality professionals that challenge the employee to transcend his/her role; coach mentthem throughout the execution of these stretch assignments.
● Develop leadership capability by designing leading regional initiatives that business results enhance the customer experience; utilize industry proven methodologies, such as lean six-sigma; support regional implementation of business corporate led initiatives. Partner with the regional customer (internal external) to co-develop annual work plans that enable the customer to achieve its annual business objectives; manage the initiatives teams to ensure successful execution.
● Ensure the proper application of industry common Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes, Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) tools, Cummins specialty tools to develop zero defect components within the external supply base; coach mentSupplier Cummins professionals on how to improve effectiveness of APQP execution. Ensure resolution of complex business-oriented function-oriented quality challenges, by sponsoring root cause analysis, by sponsoring development of corrective actions by sponsoring the verification of the effectiveness of corrective actions.

● Quality Influence - Ability to recognize stakeholders, a forum to professionally extract stakeholder perspectives, drive engage in constructive conflict, to influence outcomes inder to ensure Cummins makes a balanced decision inclusive of Quality priorities.
● Quality Standards - Applying knowledge of quality standards, such as ISO9001:2015 IATF16949, to develop procedures, processes, external suppliers in a manner that aligns with regulatory requirements.
● Supplier Performance Improvement - Improving supplier performance by developing executing an effective quality improvement strategy that consists of a project team, glidepath, reduction of manufacturing issues improvement of systemic deficiencies.
● Supplier Quality Project Planning Execution - Applying Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) skills to develop execute a quality plan that enables external suppliers to meet customer expectations; Requires facilitating communication collaboration across cross-functional activities, when a program, initiative, project concerns external suppliers.
● Values differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives cultures bring to anganization.
● Supplier Product Reliability - Ability to evaluate the suppliers product design, suppliers manufacturing process design product validation process to ensure the supplier is capable to meet reliability expectations.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
● College, university, equivalent degree in Engineering a related technical scientific subject required
● This position may require licensing fcompliance with export controls sanctions regulations.
Experience:
● Familiar with Fuel System Product Cummins VPI project development process
● 10+ years working experience with, 3+ years team management experience
