General Responsibilities:
The Evenflo Lead Product Engineer is responsible fmanaging new product design projects to schedule quality targets to provide functional input fnew product development with the ultimate goal of growing the business. The Lead Product Engineer will work with Marketing to define customer requirements will identify implement product design, material processes to meet product requirements. In addition to new product design, the Lead Product Engineer is responsible fidentifying suitable strategies fproduct improvements cost reductions. The Lead Product Engineer is responsible fstaying current with new market needs through interaction with Field Sales Marketing.
Examples of Typical Activities:
61 Work with internal project team which consists of quality, regulatory, packaging, molding operations, manufacturing, marketing, sales. Lead the project make sure all functions agree with the direction of the design. Gain alignment make sure deliverables are progressing being met.
61 Oversee the launch plan(s); ensure that all the requirements are met so the product can go to market.
61 Responsible fsustainability of current products including problem resolution corrective action as required to manage issues.
61 Responsible fdevelopment of engineering change notices (ECN).
61 3D CAD models 2D drawings fdesigns of new products.
61 Bills of Materials (BOM).
61 Work with tooling to confirm feasibility.
61 management on a regular basis on project status. Identify what is falling behind what assistance is needed from management to move process forward.
61 Evaluate Regulatory requirements coordinate test requirements / specifications with Product Integrity Quality Assurance. Oversee test validation plans.
61 Identify the resources needed fcapital expenses.
61 Travel to manufacturing facility (in US overseas) to evaluate products potential production concerns.
61 Stay up to date on regulations regarding product lines.
61 Ensure that the products meet regulatory controls.
61 Manage external design companies responsible fthe day-to-day design work of new products.

Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering – Mechanical preferred; a minimum of 5-7 years in design engineering, equivalent degree job experience.

Required Technical Competencies
61 Must have experience in the Juvenile Industry, specifically child/infant car seat engineering
61 Advanced Verbal Written Communication Skills
61 Proficient experience with regulated environment- including UL, FDA, NHTSA, CPSIA
61 Exposure to Design fManufacture Design fAssembly
61 Mechanical Engineering Aptitude (Electro-mechanical knowledge knowledge of plastic engineering injection molding)
61 Flexibility to travel
61 Demonstrated understanding of Engineering Change Notices Bills of Materials
61 Advanced Project Management Skills- ability to set project plans meet key milestones on time
61 Excellent Computer Skills (MS Office including MS Project, 3D Modeling- Creo Preferred, Finite Element Analysis
