PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Provide process plant engineering advanced controls support to maintain efficient reliable product supplies across all businesses in Asia.
2. Identify, develop design improved operating control strategies to achieve productivity targets, particularly fASU processes. Develop tracking programs metrics fplant optimization efficiency, controller on-stream. Monitthe targets against expected performance. Areas of emphasis include: manufacturing cost reduction, waste handling reduction, raw materials, utilities consumption/cost/supply, production process reliability capacity expansions.
3. Providing advanced controls consultation technical support to Plant Process Engineering teams the Productionganization, especially fASU operations, to help troubleshoot resolve process operating problems, plant optimization controls strategies, plant reliability product supply issues.
4. Day to day support on plant optimization through advanced controls data management services to site staff office-based engineers.
5. Evaluation development of new control strategies data management tools with other engineering disciplines.
6. Provide support fcapital projects (capacity, efficiency upgrades, training, startup & commissioning) as requested by Project Deliveryg, Plant Project Plant Maintenanceganizations.
7. Provide day to day support to SPIDER advanced control related stuff.
8. Develop advanced control project scope, estimate project cost benefit, develop capital expenditure authorization document propose appropriate execution strategy fbest fit with resources benefits case. Execute projects with Ops teams as part of a larger PDO capital project team. Execute project work to the defined budget agreed schedule.
9. Assist sites teams in monitoring energy efficiency relative to budget drive year-to-year improvements.
10. Provide Advanced Controls (MPC,IP21) design, implementation plant tuning support.
11. Provide technical safety reviews fMOC’s drive process safety compliance as part of engineering reviews.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The position requires an individual with:
1. Demonstrated engineering technical skills working hands on in an operating plant, preferably in Air Separation Units (ASU).
2. Demonstrated ability to work in groups, interacting with plant operators, process engineers, maintenance, production engineers, plant supervision line management.
3. Solid capabilities includingganizational, planning, interpersonal, communication skills (written verbal) in English are essential to the position.
4. A minimum of a BS engineering degree (Chemical engineering, Process Control preferred) minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Engineering and/Operations is required.
5. Travel 30-50% of the time.
6. Solid skill on DCS control system with Strong knowledge on PID tuning, Control loop troubleshooting. Familiar with the APC implementation tools Aspen DMC3 a plus.
7. Previous experience in field operations in Air Separation Units (ASU) similar cryogenic processes including, but not limited to, reaction, distillation, adsorption, heat exchange, utilities process control automation equipment, in plant optimization activities a plus.
