Group Overview
The Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. of Japan is the world's 6th largest tire company, founded in 1909, headquartered in Kobe, Japan. It has production bases in Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Its main products are automotive supplies, sporting goods, and industrial products.
Group Goals
In 2006, Sumitomo Rubber established its group strategy: to provide high value-added products and services to society in different social fields. To this end, the group will focus on improving its own technological R&D capabilities, production management capabilities, and profitability.
Social Responsibility
Tires are an important product of Sumitomo Rubber. As the production and use of automobiles continue to expand globally, while making human life more convenient, they have also brought about worldwide environmental problems such as global climate change and resource depletion.
To reduce the impact of production on the environment, the group formulated a medium- and long-term strategic goal in December 2006: to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 20% by 2010 compared with 1990. To achieve this goal, the Sumitomo Rubber Group introduced energy-saving and environmentally friendly systems in its domestic Japanese factories, converting crude oil to natural gas, which can reduce energy consumption by about 35% compared with before.
Therefore, Sumitomo Rubber has always regarded environmental protection as an important strategy for corporate development. By changing tire formulations, we reduce the use of petroleum-based resources and lower our impact on the environment. ENASAVE 97, a new environmentally friendly Dunlop* tire product in which non-petroleum resources account for 97%, began sales in Japan in June 2008.
Safety
In terms of safety, the Sumitomo Rubber Group regards ensuring employees' safety and health and maintaining a comfortable working environment as the foundation of its corporate activities. As a member of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Sumitomo Rubber (Hunan) Co., Ltd. is committed to creating an accident-free enterprise based on the principle of "safety and health take priority over everything else."
Sales
For domestic sales in China, Sumitomo Rubber, through four sales companies in Dalian, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, reaches agents nationwide and wholeheartedly provides tires and services to customers in all regions. We not only provide high-quality tires, but also, so that customers can drive with peace of mind, station Dunlop professionals with tire knowledge and technical skills in various locations, striving toward the goal of customer satisfaction*.
