Our Story:
Yes, we are a start-up! Ignite by Forvia-Hella is a fully remote 35-person company, all working remotely in time-zones between Europe Asia. Our parent company Forvia-Hella (60,000 employees world-wide) is an 8-Billion Euro tech conglomerate in automotive advanced lighting. Ignite was spawned off from their global software division with the specific mandate to focus on the most cutting edge, impact driven solutions embedded prototypes. Today we are focusing on autonomous drive traffic safety.

We focus on two majproducts: an Autonomous Driving machine readable traffic system, called Ignite.Driving, an Augmented Reality platform fautomotive (non-automotive) projects.
Ignite.Driving: the software you will be responsible fis a real-time product in the Autonomous Drive stack that uses the perception motion planning system of a car/vehicle. Since the AD stack needs to follow regulations safety criteria fcars that drive on public roads, our product helps to ensure this safety criteria by providing deterministic judgment based on local traffic laws.
As FAE, you will take the current release of our core product, embedded C++ software fautonomous driving, integrate it the autonomous driving (AD) stack of our customers vehicles. You are the link between our core development teams the customers vehicle software: you make sure our software talks to theirs.
1. Interface definition with the customer
You will visit our customers work out their requirements: How does their software communicate with ours, what data is exchanged? Together with the customer, you will a Customer Interface Description (CID) that serves as the common basis fthe communication. Based on this, you define develop the interface, typically Ethernet-based communication with SOME/IP, described via Franca IDL ARXML files, within an AUTOSAR Adaptive environment.
2. Integration the vehicle system
You adapt the communication layer of the core product to the customers environment integrate it their AD stack, on the target hardware in the vehicle, typically on Linux-based platforms. Where necessary, you also calibrate parameterize our software fthe customers setup align the corresponding requirements with the customer. You work in line with the functional safety requirements of ISO 26262.
3. Testing validation
You are responsible fthe tests that come with the integration: interface tests, integration tests on the customers hardware, tests in the vehicle. This means working on site at the customer, at the test bench at the vehicle.
Your day-to-day
• Work on tickets take part in the daily Scrum at 8:30 am Central European Time
• Join technical meetings with our core development teams, e.g. architecture meetings
• Clarify specify interfaces together with the customers technical teams
• Run integration testing sessions with the customer
• Bring customer feedback calibration needs back to the core team
What this role is not
You will not develop the core algorithms. The core product is developed by our core teams. Your focus is on integrating, adapting, calibrating, testing supporting it in the customers vehicle system.
Fthis role, the technical experience you will need:
• Previous experience as FAE in an automotive environment
• Embedded experience on vehicles
• Familiarity with C++17, Python (you should be able to develop it, but this is not an expert C++ developer role)
• Experience with communication protocols like SOME/IP, ethernet, CAN bus, Franca files, ARXML
• Simulation tools used in automotive like SIM51
• Strong experience with AUTOSAR Adaptive
• Linux in embedded environments
• SOME/IP, Ethernet / IP-based communication ARXML
• C++
• Knowledge of functional safety according to ISO 26262
• Experience with integration testing on hardware, at the test bench in the vehicle
