Purpose of Job
We are seeking an accomplished Principal AI Engineer to provide technical leadership fa team of AI machine learning engineers driving the next generation of AI solutions. In this pivotal role, you will shape execute the R&Dganization’s AI strategy, leading the end-to-end development of robust, scalable models platforms. Your expertise will ensure the successful deployment of cutting-edge AI technologies while fostering a strong, data-driven culture of innovation excellence.
MajResponsibilities
Lead AI Development – Oversee the design, build, deployment of advanced AI/ML solutions aligned with business scientific goals.
Collaborate Broadly – Partner with engineers, data scientists, product teams to integrate models production workflows.
Shape Architecture – Define scalable, reliable AI infrastructure manage the full model lifecycle (MLOps).
Set Standards – Promote best practices fdevelopment, testing, deployment, ongoing model performance.
Drive Innovation – Track emerging AI technologies introduce new tools to keep the team at the forefront.
Ensure Compliance – Maintain strict data privacy, security, ethical standards.
Qualification
Foundational Background
Education: Bachelor’s Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, a closely related technical field (Ph.D. preferred).
Experience: 10+ years of progressive AI/ML engineering experience, including 5+ years in a leadership management role driving large-scale AI initiatives managing high-performing engineering teams.
Track Record: Proven success delivering production-grade, scalable AI/ML solutions that measurable scientific business impact.
Core Technical Expertise
Generative AI Leadership: Deep, hands-on experience in training, fine-tuning, hosting, deploying large-scale generative models, with mastery of PyTorch (preferred) TensorFlow fmodel development optimization.
Agentic AI Frameworks: Demonstrated expertise in Agentic AI designchestration, leveraging frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, similar to build intelligent, multi-step reasoning agents.
Advanced AI Techniques: Strong capability in context engineering, prompt engineering, agent- graph-augmented retrieval (Agent/Graph RAG), text-to-SQL generation, multimodal AI (integrating text, image, structured data, etc.) to enable complex knowledge-driven applications.
MLOps & Infrastructure: Robust knowledge of MLOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines fmachine learning, model versioning, automated testing, scalable deployment, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Life Sciences & Biomedical AI
Domain-Specific Modeling: Familiarity with biomedical pharmaceutical NLP technologies such as cTAKES, BioGPT, PubMed-based LLMs, similar biomedical AI frameworks.
Knowledge Systems: Experience applying knowledge graphs ontology-driven reasoning to drug discovery, clinical data integration, molecular research is a strong plus.
Leadership & Collaboration
Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional technical teams, mentseniengineers, drive alignment with scientists, product leaders, business stakeholders.
Supericommunication skills fconveying complex AI concepts to diverse audiences, including research, regulatory, executive teams.
Deep appreciation of data privacy, security best practices, ethical considerations in AI development deployment.
