Job Overview: Elekta is a Sweden-headquartered international healthcare solutions company, specializing in radiation therapy. This role is responsible fleading user research usability testing activities to enhance the user experience ensure the safe use of Elekta’s medical software hardware products. You will produce usability engineering deliverables that support regulatory submissions collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, UX teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, clinically reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. User Research & Usability Testing
• Conduct user research usability testing to continuously improve user experience product safety
• Lead end-to-end user research activities, including study design, execution, translation of insights actionable outcomes (e.g., interviews, contextual inquiry, task analysis)
• Deliver high-quality research reports usability engineering documentation to support product design decisions
• Independently conduct a range of research activities, including:
- Contextual Studies
- User Interviews / Surveys
- Task Analysis & Use ErrAnalysis
- User Reviews & Heuristic Evaluations
- Usability Testing
2. Usability Engineering & Cross-functional Collaboration
• Identify critical use risks (Use Errors) drive design improvements to support medical device compliance regulatory submissions (e.g., FDA, CE)
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, System Architects, Clinical Experts to translate user insights product improvements
• Act as a usability engineering subject matter expert in product reviews, contributing to decision-making ensuring clinical-grade product quality
• Prioritize research effectively under constraints, balancing business needs with delivery timelines
• Participate in Agile ceremonies PI Planning, managing research plans, dependencies, risks
• Manage external usability testing vendors, including participant recruitment, to ensure smooth project execution
• Continuously improve UX research methodologies processes to enhance team efficiency research quality
• Mentreview the work of juniteam members to strengthen overall UX capabilities
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree above in Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Experimental Psychology, User-Centred Design, related fields
• Experience in regulated medical devices is a MUST
• 4+ years of experience in UX Research, Human Factors, Usability Engineering, with the ability to independently lead research projects including software products.
• Strong knowledge of user research usability testing methods, with the ability to deliver high-quality research outputs
• Strong analytical structured thinking skills, with the ability to translate user insights actionable recommendations
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, working effectively with Product, Engineering, PMO team
• Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate effectively produce professional documentation in a global environment
