The State Street Global Investment management Global Head of Data, Analytics & AI Services (GHDAAIS) is seeking to hire a Principal Data Science, Assistant Vice President at Hangzhou office. This role will play an important role in leading the solution delivery of AI technology services provided to the Global Advisors business at State Street. The role will be a key player in the DAAISganization fAI services supporting the COO’sganizational delivery of the AI platforms in a federated model to Global Advisors, State Street, our clients. The role will function as the AI specialist solution lead fAI related services working closely with the State Street affiliates, Global Technology Services (GTS) other third-party vendors used within the SSGA ecosystem globally. The role the team will provide AI architectural solution to the COO’s delivery of technology platforms services according to the GTS architectural standards operate under a federated operating model to deliver against a target end state AI ecosystem blueprint. In addition, the role needs to adopt GTS AI related technology, risk, security, data governance standards.
This is a principal data scientist role fcandidate who has very strong hands-on foundational AI solution design development experience, as well as strong team collaboration skills leadership. The candidate should have rich experience fAI application development. The candidate has 5+ years of experience in asset management. This is someone who also has demonstrable leadership in developing service-oriented AI solution, has delivered enterprise platform and/commercialized AI product. The candidate has excellent technical problem-solving skills, someone with creativity self-motivation to deliver on mission critical projects with tight timelines competing priorities.
Responsibilities:
Lead a small agile team to deliver highly effective AI solution to meet our fast-changing business client needs, collaborate with global teams to execute on global projects keep improving model solution AI best practices.
Adopt various modern AI tools to design develop AI solution disrupt traditional AI development approach improve overall productivity.
Develop, train, mentjunidata scientists, ensure their continuous growth development, foster a high-performance team culture.
Become subject matter expert in modern AI tools, foundational AI model design, development, validation by converting financial data models to mathematical computer science level design implementation.
Integrate, customize, train known AI model algorithm in open-source libraries to solve financial market problem perform validation bug fixes.
Drive model rationalization, reusability, scalability implement modern MLOps model observability.
Write model specification about problem statement, assumption, data input, methodology, implementation framework, test result; work with external model validation group implement changes fgo-live.
Support IT integration, QA/UAT deployment of AI micro services, operationalizing productizing resulting models AI solutions.
Support production issue pertinent to model algorithm including the ones used in open-source libraries if any.
Skills Qualifications:
Master’s degree required (preferably in computer science, financial mathematics, financial engineering), PhD preferred.
8+ years of hands-on coding experience with foundational AI algorithms familiar with deep learning neural network like various supervise unsupervised models reinforcement learning.
8+ years of modern, object-oriented functional programming design experience (Python, Java) proficient in AI code generation tools like GitHub Co-pilot/Cursor.
Proficient in public cloud development environment could native products such as Azure ML, Azure AI Foundry, Snowflake, Databricks Mosaic, AWS Bedrock/Sagemaker.
Familiar with majfinancial instrument, reference data, market data, investment risk management concept.
Fluent with English Mandarin; Excellent written verbal communication skills at all stakeholder levels across multiple countries.
Result driven, detailiented, candid attitude.
Any of the following is highly desirable:
Pridata scientist role in financial institution model validation experience.
Pririsk investment management experience in asset management industry.
Structured unstructured data management tools (Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, etc.).
Passed Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) level II equivalent.
