Baota Petrochemical Group is an enterprise group with Ningxia Baota Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. as its core parent company. Its main business is petroleum refining and petrochemicals. Baota Petrochemical Group, through wholly-owned and joint venture forms, holds controlling interests in Ningxia Baota Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd., Guangdong Nanfang Baota Investment Holding Co., Ltd., Beijing Beifang Baota Investment Holding Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Kuishan Baota Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Yinchuan University Education Group Co., Ltd., Baota United Chemical Co., Ltd., Ningxia Baota Chemical Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Northwest Bearing Co., Ltd. (a listed company), and other subsidiaries. It owns a class-A qualified design institute, research institute, national key laboratory for coal chemical testing, post-doctoral research station, talent highland, and expert service base.

In 2014, Baota Petrochemical Group participated in the application for China's Top 500 Enterprises for the first time, ranking 385th with operating revenue of 30.18 billion yuan. It also ranked 114th among China's Top 500 Private Enterprises in 2014 and 15th among China's Top 500 Chemical Enterprises. Baota Petrochemical Group has established regional companies in more than 20 large and medium-sized cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Erenhot, Lanzhou, Shenzhen, Dalian, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Xi'an.
