Yunnan Construction Investment Second Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction Co., Ltd. was established in 1983, formerly known as China Nonferrous Metals 14th Metallurgical Mechanized Engineering Company. In 2016, in order to implement the major strategic deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on comprehensively deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises and promoting their growth and strengthening, and to better actively integrate into and serve the national "Belt and Road" initiative and Yunnan Province's "Five Networks" construction, the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government promoted the integration and restructuring of the former Yunnan Construction Engineering Group, 14th Metallurgical Construction Group, and Southwest Communications Construction Group into Yunnan Construction Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd.
