近年来，医院各临床科室紧跟本学科的发展步伐，肿瘤、肾脏、眼科、口腔、超声、骨科、胸外、特色中医、肝胆外科等专科在本市已形成明显优势。目前肿瘤科和肾脏内科已经通过省级重点专科立项。资阳市已有8个临床质控分中心挂靠在我院相应科室，分别为麻醉、口腔、放疗、肿瘤、高压氧、眼科、临床营养、肾病（血液透析）质量控制分中心。
2016年8月成为四川省人民医院医疗集团资阳医院后，实现了我院和四川省人民医院的“人、医”两通。现在四川省人民医院专家团队长期入驻我院，不但使我院的医疗技术水平得到整体提升，也为我院的学科建设和专科人才的培养奠定了坚实的基础。
