Geophysical Exploration Brigade of Hubei Provincial Geological Bureau

The Geophysical Exploration Brigade of Hubei Provincial Geological Bureau (abbreviated as Hubei Geophysical Exploration Brigade) was founded in 1958 and is a professional geophysical and geochemical exploration team under the Hubei Provincial Geological Bureau. The brigade has under it the Geophysical Exploration Institute, the Geological and Geochemical Exploration Institute, the Shenlong Geological Engineering Survey Institute, Shenlong Municipal Engineering Co., Ltd., Shenlong Engineering Testing Technology Co., Ltd., the Surveying and Mapping Geographic Information Center, the Market Development Department, the Comprehensive Service Center, and other secondary entities as well as eight functional offices. The brigade currently has 380 employees, among whom 4 enjoy special government allowances from the State Council, 2 are provincial outstanding young and middle-aged experts, 15 are professor-level senior engineers, 45 are senior engineers, and 120 are engineers. It owns fixed assets of more than 60 million yuan and more than 300 sets of advanced instruments and equipment for production and scientific research. It holds Class A qualifications in national geophysical exploration, geochemical exploration, solid mineral exploration, gas mineral exploration, geological drilling, engineering geophysical prospecting, engineering surveying and mapping, surveying and mapping geographic information system engineering, engineering investigation, geological disaster treatment engineering construction, geological disaster treatment engineering investigation and risk assessment, etc.; Class B qualifications in hydrogeological, engineering and environmental geological investigation and liquid mineral exploration; Class II general contracting qualification for municipal engineering construction; as well as qualifications in construction engineering quality testing, tailings pond online monitoring design and construction, land consolidation engineering surveying and construction, etc. It has passed the ISO9001-2008 quality system certification.
Over more than fifty years since its establishment, the Hubei Geophysical Exploration Brigade has given full play to its professional advantages in geophysical and geochemical exploration and made outstanding contributions to national geological prospecting and local economic construction. It has completed regional gravity, magnetic and geochemical surveys across the province, geophysical and geochemical reconnaissance in important metallogenic belts, geophysical and geochemical detailed surveys in important metallic and non-metallic mining areas, and scientific research projects in geophysical and geochemical exploration, and has compiled more than 600 achievement reports. It has participated in the exploration of dozens of large, medium and small metallic and non-metallic mineral deposits and mineral occurrences both within and outside the province. It has won more than thirty provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards.
In recent years, relying on scientific and technological progress and technological innovation, the Hubei Geophysical Exploration Brigade has actively promoted the concepts of quality, integrity and brand service, and its comprehensive strength and core competitiveness have improved significantly. On the basis of geophysical and geochemical exploration, its service means have continuously extended to fields such as agricultural geology, urban geology, engineering geological investigation, geological disaster prevention and control, engineering geophysical prospecting, advanced geological prediction, trenchless construction, construction engineering inspection (monitoring) and testing, and engineering surveying and mapping. Its service areas cover 20 provinces and regions in China as well as nearly twenty countries and regions including the Bahamas and Dominica in the Americas and Benin, Ghana, Mozambique, Ethiopia and Eritrea in Africa. It has successively won honorary titles such as National "Integrity Demonstration Enterprise", "Advanced Collective in Flood Fighting" by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Advanced Unit in Building a Learning-oriented Organization in Hubei Province, Hubei Provincial "May 1st Labor Award", Advanced Unit in the "Sixth Five-Year" Law Popularization in Hubei Province, Provincial Enterprise Abiding by Contracts and Keeping Promises, Provincial Advanced Unit in Work Safety, and Civilized Unit of Provincial Departments; and for five consecutive terms over ten years it has been awarded the title of "Civilized Unit" by the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
