The Manufacturing Engineer fChemical Equipment Fabrication is responsible fdeveloping, improving, overseeing manufacturing processes fthe fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, other specialized chemical process equipment like thermal oxidizer, flare stack etc. This role ensures production efficiency, quality, safety, while also supporting cost control compliance with industry codes such as GB, ASME, API, ISO.
Responsibility
Process Development & Optimization
- Design implement manufacturing processes fwelding, forming, machining, assembly.
- Develop fabrication sequences, routing sheets, production drawings.
- Optimize material flow, layout, process efficiency.
Technical Support
- Support fabrication teams with technical solutions related to welding, material compatibility, dimensional tolerances.
- Provide engineering input fNCR (Non-Conformance Reports) rework solutions.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII, API standards, internal quality procedures.
- Collaborate with QA/QC to verify dimensional, welding, NDT inspection requirements.
Project Execution
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, procurement fsmooth execution of manufacturing jobs.
- Assist in planning resources scheduling flarge complex equipment.
Tooling & Equipment
- Specify jigs, fixtures, lifting tools, other equipment required fefficient safe fabrication.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare maintain documentation such as manufacturing records, weld maps, MTOs (Material Take-Offs).
- Track production progress report manufacturing KPIs.
On-Time Fabrication Rate (%)
Percentage of equipment delivered according to the planned manufacturing schedule.
Manufacturing Cycle Time (Hours Days)
Average time before the fabrication MTO, process preparation is taken to fabricate one unit of equipment.
Process Downtime (%)
Percentage of unplanned downtime during manufacturing due to process issues.
