Postal Savings Bank of China traces its origins to the postal savings business launched in 1919, with a history spanning over a century. In March 2007, on the basis of reforming the original postal savings management system, Postal Savings Bank of China was officially established. In January 2012, it was restructured into a joint-stock company. In September 2016, it was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. In December 2019, it was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, completing the "A+H" dual listing of a large state-owned bank, enhancing capital strength and optimizing capital structure.
In 2019, it officially joined the ranks of large state-owned banks, becoming one of the six major state-owned banks. Total assets reached 10.22 trillion yuan, total loans 4.97 trillion yuan, and the loan-to-deposit ratio rose to 53.41%, achieving a comprehensive transformation into a modern commercial bank. In 2019, it ranked 22nd in Tier 1 capital among the world's top 1000 banks by The Banker magazine.
Value creation capacity steadily improved. In 2019, net profit reached 61.036 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.52%, with return on equity reaching 13.10%; net interest margin was 2.45%, net interest spread 2.50%, maintaining a leading level; non-performing loan ratio was 0.86%, and provision coverage ratio was 389.45%. Development quality remained excellent, risk control capabilities continued to strengthen, and it became the first large state-owned commercial bank to receive a credit rating from "S&P Credit Rating".
As one of the 36 tier-1 branches of the head office, Postal Savings Bank of China Chongqing Branch was officially established on December 28, 2007. Since its establishment, Chongqing Branch has thoroughly implemented the overall requirements and work arrangements of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and the head office, adhering to the market positioning of serving agriculture, rural areas and farmers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and communities. Relying on the unique model of "self-operated + agency" and its resource endowments, it has continuously enriched its business product system and improved operational efficiency and service levels. Taking serving the real economy as its starting point, it has integrated into local implementation of major strategic deployments. Actively focusing on the main line of "enhancing capabilities, strengthening management, and efficient development", it adheres to the coordinated development of "quality, efficiency, and scale", strictly controls various financial risks, actively supports the development of the real economy and serves weak areas of people's livelihood, maintaining a steady and sound development trend. As of the end of 2019, Chongqing Branch had 8 tier-2 branches (including directly affiliated sub-branches), 39 tier-1 sub-branches, nearly 1,700 business outlets, assets of nearly 320 billion yuan, deposits of over 300 billion yuan, and loan balances of over 80 billion yuan. It has cumulatively provided over 300 billion yuan in funding support for Chongqing's local economic development and has won the Financial Contribution Award issued by the Chongqing Municipal Government for many consecutive years.
