Job Summary：
We are looking fan IP Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support to the applicable business unit(s) world area(s) in China fthe effective management of Emerson’s intellectual property portfolio globally, initially requiring some guidance direction, with reduced levels of supervision as experience grows.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Provides advice to the relevant business unit(s) on a broad spectrum of legal issues, with some supervision, including:
- Establishing IP strategy fthe relevant business Units in China, including patent trademark procurement enforcement, infringement avoidance, as well as tool/process development improvement.
- Monitoring guiding patent, design trademark filing prosecution globally to ensure consistency with IP strategy.
- Negotiating patent licenses patent related agreements (e.g. NDAs, license agreements, consulting agreements, technology development agreements, etc.).
- Engaging with various third parties, including governments, external technology partners, outside counsel.
2. Works cooperatively with Emerson Law Department colleagues outside counsel on routine legal matters to ensure compliance with Emerson policies applicable legal regulatory requirements.
3. Keeps business unit(s) management Law Department management fully advised of all significant developments concerning all material matters in a timely fashion.
4. Exercises good professional judgment, acts with integrity, always drives results to protect enhance the image reputation of Emerson the Law Department.
5. Supports the Legal team in:
- Assisting the coordination of the investigation counterfeiting other IP infringements in China; Assisting the coordination of follow-up action by law enforcement, such as the police.
- Supporting IP infringement civil litigations in China.
- Implementing corporate policies throughout all applicable divisions.
- Strategic projects in different areas (e.g. implementation of various legislation, applicable new directives regulations).
6. Manages the post-acquisition legal integration process of newly acquired companies regarding all applicable legal areas.
7. Cooperates in proactively contributes to direction of various strategic initiatives of the Legal team, with other tasks as assigned.

FThis Role, You Will Need:
- 2 years of relevant work experience in a commercial international field (in-house private practice).
- Licensed to practice law in China.
- Law Degree from an accredited law school.
- Comfortable working with senimanagement.
- Intermediate MS Office skills.
- Excellental written English Chinese language skills.
- Openness to travel.
- Solution-finding, practical, with a strong business acumen, able to weigh take reasonable risks.
- Self-motivated keen on getting involved in exposed to all kinds of legal matters business areas.
