China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Central Depository & Clearing") was established in December 1996. Positioned as a national financial infrastructure, it is a central financial enterprise approved and funded by the State Council, dedicated exclusively to financial infrastructure services. With a registered capital of RMB 5 billion, it stands out among domestic peers for its strong capital base.
In recent years, the company has actively undertaken regulatory support functions entrusted by authorities such as the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and the National Development and Reform Commission, including registration of wealth management products, registration and transfer of credit assets, registration of government-funded industrial funds, review and acceptance of corporate bonds, and monitoring of debt risks of state-owned enterprises. By the end of 2020, the company managed registration of various financial assets exceeding RMB 110 trillion, of which bonds accounted for over RMB 77 trillion.
The company has wholly-owned subsidiaries such as the Banking Wealth Management Product Registration and Custody Center, ChinaBond Pricing Center, ChinaBond Financial Technology Information Co., Ltd., and ChinaBond Jinshi Asset Management Co., Ltd. It holds controlling stakes in the Banking Credit Asset Registration and Transfer Center and China Trust Registration Co., Ltd., and participates as a shareholder in Shanghai Clearing House. It has effectively become a national financial infrastructure group.
