山东省科学院激光研究所成立于1978年，隶属于齐鲁工业大学（山东省科学院），注册地在山东济宁高新区，设有济南研发中心、青岛研发中心和白俄罗斯研究中心。在济宁和济南拥有两个科研产业园区，占地100余亩，建筑面积超过7万平方米。2018年成立齐鲁工业大学光电工程国际化学院。2021年整合激光所、齐鲁工业大学光电学院、大学物理教学部、微电子专业成立光电科学与技术学部，初步形成了“一所三地+科教融合学院+科技型企业”科教产并重、产学研协同发展的综合体。
