Chongqing Yongchuan District People's Hospital was founded in 1949, became a Grade II Class A hospital in 2010, and successfully passed re-evaluation in 2017. It consists of two parts: the Honghe Campus and the Xiaojiachong Campus, with a total land area of 45,000 square meters and a building area (business space) of 103,000 square meters, of which the Honghe Hospital is 62,000 square meters (inpatient building 48,000 square meters, outpatient 14,000 square meters); the Xiaojiachong Hospital business space is 21,500 square meters.
The hospital has 1.5T MRI, 0.32T MRI, 64-slice 128-layer spiral CT, 16-slice spiral CT, 5 color Doppler ultrasound machines (3 of which are fully imported and can perform shear wave imaging), bone densitometer, foraminoscope, medium C-arm, large C-arm, laser imaging DR system, dry laser camera, automatic biochemical analyzer, television laparoscope, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, hemodialysis machine, holmium laser and plasma resectoscope and other large high-tech treatment and examination equipment. The hospital currently has 800 employees, including 81 with senior professional titles; 1 with a doctoral degree, 20 with master's degrees, 2 famous traditional Chinese medicine doctors in Chongqing, and 1 expert enjoying special government allowance from the State Council. The hospital began its main relocation to the Honghe Campus on July 20, 2018, and has now completed the relocation. It has established 54 administrative functional and clinical medical technology departments including the emergency department, intensive care medicine department, neonatology department, orthopedics department, traditional Chinese medicine department, neurosurgery department, cerebrovascular disease department, hepatobiliary urology surgery department, geriatrics department, cardiovascular medicine department, respiratory nephrology department, oncology department, gastrointestinal thoracic surgery department, radiology department, ultrasound department, etc. Among them, the cardiovascular medicine department is a key regional specialty in Chongqing, and the orthopedics, cardiovascular medicine, and otolaryngology departments are key specialties in Yongchuan District. It is a standardized training base for general practitioners. It is equipped with modern facilities and equipment such as automated pharmacy, pneumatic logistics, testing assembly line, and distributed energy. The hospital is in the process of creating a Grade III Class A hospital and a Sino-Singapore International Cancer Hospital.
