我校创办于榆林及周边省区以煤炭为主的能源化工经济带大开发时期，学校选址在榆神工业园区和榆横工业园区交汇点处。我们主要服务叁个产业圈：即以榆林神木横山50公里为半径的100个煤矿及煤化工企业服务圈；以府谷靖边鄂尔多斯150公里为半径的300个煤油盐企业服务圈；以晋陕蒙宁甘300公里为半径的1000多个能源化工企业服务圈。
2011年学校被榆林市人力资源和社会保障局评为“就业培训先进单位”，被榆阳区委、区政府评为“教育工作先进单位”，2012年我校通过陕西省示范校评估工作，成为陕北*一家达到省级示范校建设标准的名办职业院校。2013年8月20号被正式评为“省级示范民办职业技术学校”！
