Guangzhou Yuexiu District Children's Hospital

Guangzhou Yuexiu District Children's Hospital was founded in 1958, located in Danan Road in the central urban area of Guangzhou, adjacent to Beijing Road commercial pedestrian street. It is one of the only two children's specialized hospitals in Guangzhou, a designated medical institution for provincial, municipal, and district public medical care as well as minor medical insurance, and a Guangzhou price integrity unit. Our hospital has always adhered to the principles of noble medical ethics, superb medical skills, good service, and reasonable charges to serve the vast number of adolescents and children. It has now developed into a second-level children's specialized hospital integrating scientific research, teaching, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and healthcare.
Our hospital has an emergency department, Western pediatric internal medicine, traditional Chinese medicine pediatric internal medicine, rehabilitation medicine, stomatology, ophthalmology and otolaryngology, physiotherapy, allergy department, as well as special clinics for children's cough and asthma, children's nutrition and health care, endocrinology, TCM spleen and stomach, TCM malnutrition, TCM health care, encephalopathy with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and TCM preventive treatment. In 2013, the pediatric internal medicine specialty was identified by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Bureau as a Guangzhou key medical discipline cultivation project (2013-2015), with a relatively high level of scientific research among specialized hospitals in Guangzhou and good development momentum.
Our hospital's key discipline - the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is a base for autism treatment research with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine and a base for digital intervention for autism under the Social Mental Health Service Guidance Center of the China Association of Social Workers. It is also a group member unit of the Music Therapy Professional Committee of Guangdong Provincial Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine combines traditional Chinese acupuncture with modern rehabilitation and training to treat pediatric encephalopathy, with distinctive features. In December 2011, it was rated as a municipal key specialty (famous TCM specialty) by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Bureau. In March 2012, it was rated as a Guangdong Province "Twelfth Five-Year" TCM characteristic specialty construction unit by the Guangdong Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has signed business cooperation agreements with multiple neurological rehabilitation treatment institutions, including the Cell Therapy Center of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In September 2015, in cooperation with the Yuexiu District Disabled Persons' Federation, the Yuexiu District Children's Hospital Rehabilitation Center was established.
The inpatient department has 3 wards with a total of 97 beds, covering respiratory, digestive, and neurological fields, with an average daily outpatient volume of 1,600 person-times. The hospital has a severe observation room as required for a second-level specialized hospital, and has established comprehensive consultation, guidance, and two-way referral mechanisms with Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, the Pediatrics Department of Guangzhou First People's Hospital, and Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital to meet the needs of treating acute and critical pediatric conditions.
The auxiliary medical and technical departments are equipped with advanced medical examination and treatment equipment from home and abroad, at a relatively advanced level in the field of pediatrics in Guangzhou. The main equipment includes: Japanese automatic biochemical analyzer, Abbott hematology analyzer, chemiluminescence analyzer, Beijing Shimadzu medical X-ray machine, CR machine, trace element analyzer, electroencephalograph, color Doppler ultrasound, American pulmonary function tester, TCM meridian analyzer, German bio-resonance allergy detection and treatment device, automatic urine analyzer, automatic 12-lead electrocardiograph, BD blood culture instrument, drug sensitivity identification instrument, CO2 incubator, fluorescence microscope, and other equipment. In addition, it is equipped with electronic nasopharyngoscope treatment device, electronic bronchoscope, amblyopia treatment device, biofeedback therapeutic apparatus, microwave therapy apparatus, bone densitometer, meridian detection system, and other equipment.
Currently, our hospital has a total of 239 staff members. The hospital has a strong professional and technical force, with 210 professional and technical personnel, including 26 with senior professional titles (3 with full senior titles) and 31 with intermediate professional titles. As a training base for general pediatric specialist physicians in Guangdong Province, the hospital undertakes standardized training and teaching tasks for specialist physicians each year, as well as clinical teaching and internship training for medical students. Our hospital has good practical teaching capabilities and conditions. It is a clinical practice teaching base for Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and the Health School of Guangzhou Medical University, making significant contributions to the cultivation of high-quality pediatric medical talents.
In recent years, our hospital has been awarded the "Price Integrity Unit" by the Guangzhou Municipal Price Bureau; in 2008, the emergency medical team was awarded the "Advanced Collective for Spring Festival Transportation and Disaster Relief" by the Guangzhou Municipal Government; from 2009 to 2010, it was awarded the "Civilized Unit" title by the CPC Yuexiu District Committee and the Yuexiu District Government; in 2011, it was awarded the "Worker Pioneer" title by the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Guangzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, and was awarded the honorary title of "2009-2011 Advanced Collective of Yuexiu District" by the Yuexiu District Committee and Government; in 2013, it was rated as the advanced unit for unpaid blood donation in Yuexiu District in 2012 by the Yuexiu District Committee and Government; in 2015, our hospital's scientific research project "The effect of non-nutritive sucking combined with music therapy on pain during venipuncture in infants aged 2-6 months" was awarded the "2013-2014 Guangzhou Yuexiu District Science and Technology Progress Third Prize" by the Yuexiu District Government.
