漳州市中医院创建于1956年，是一所以中医内科为基础，骨伤、康复为重点的，集医疗、科研、教学、预防、康复、保健为一体的综合性中医院，是福建中医药大学附属医院，也是福建省中医临床、教学、科研中心之一。医院骨伤科、康复科、呼吸科、中医妇科、糖尿病专科是省级重点专科。骨伤科是国家临床重点专科建设单位；骨伤科、康复科是国家中医药管理局“十二五”重点专科建设单位；心血管科是省级重点专科建设单位。1995年被国家中医药管理局授予全国“示范中医医院”、“三级乙等中医医院”，2013年被授予“三级甲等中医医院”（编号ZYSJ313005）等称号。
