Founded in 2007, BYD's Shanghai R&D Center focuses on providing complete device design and co-developing products with terminal equipment manufacturers. Affiliated with the Fifth Business Unit, which integrates the excellent resources of the Eighth and Fifteenth Business Units, the center currently houses 9 major departments, with over 650 technical R&D and management personnel, and nearly 700 employees in total.
At present, the Shanghai R&D Center is dedicated to the design and development of communication electronic products such as mobile phones and tablets, laptop computers and peripheral products, and automotive electronic products. Leveraging its capabilities in complete design and development for mobile phones, tablets, and laptops, combined with the rich component products and production capabilities of BYD's Electronics Business Group, the center enjoys a solid customer base. Through collaborations with major clients such as Samsung, Dell, HP, Razer, Toshiba, Nokia, Huawei, Lenovo, and China Mobile, its strength has been greatly enhanced.
