我院座落在郴州市苏仙岭风景区南面山脚下，创建于1959年，占地面积58亩，现开设病床360张，固定资产1700余万元，在职职工254人，其中专业技术人员192人，具有高级职称的18人次，中级职称的74人，年门诊病人3万余人次，住院病人2千余人次。是湖南省一所设备先进、功能齐全、技术力量雄厚以防治精神病为主的二级甲等专科医院，在省内外享有较高的声誉，曾受到过敬爱的周恩来总理、卫生部及省、市领导的高度评价。
