Imaging and Laboratory Center, The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University

The Imaging and Laboratory Center of The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, also known as Sun Yat-sen Medical Health Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"), is a government-run non-profit medical institution approved by the Guangzhou Health Bureau and sponsored by The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. It serves as a teaching unit for the Clinical College of Sun Yat-sen Medical College and the School of Public Health of Sun Yat-sen University, undertaking tasks such as medical care, teaching, research, prevention, health check-up, and health management. It is a demonstration base for Siemens' integrated healthcare solutions and imaging and laboratory testing, as well as a demonstration base for Digital China's medical application IT technology.
The Center is located in the North Campus of The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University at No. 17 Shougouling Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou. It sits at the southern foot of Yanling Mountain, facing Guangyuan Road and directly opposite CITIC Plaza, away from residential areas, tranquil despite its central location, with fresh air and a pleasant environment. The site is on the central axis of the Tianhe North Central Business District, separated from the East Railway Station and the Tianhe North CBD only by the Guangyuan Expressway, offering convenient transportation. It is close to Yudong West Road, Yanling Road, Yueken Road, and Tianshou Road, near Guangsan Highway and Guangzhou Avenue, with direct access to the Inner Ring Expressway, South China Expressway, Guang-Shen Expressway, and Jing-Zhu Expressway. Multiple bus routes serve major upscale residential and commercial areas in the city. Directly opposite are exits H and J of the East Railway Station on Metro Lines 1 and 3, connected by a pedestrian overpass.
The Center has invited over 100 experts from various specialties. There are 120 employed staff, including 8 professors and chief physicians, 19 associate professors and deputy chief physicians, with 8 holding doctoral degrees and 12 holding master's degrees. It offers 12 second-level disciplines including Preventive Health Department, Health Check-up Department, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Stomatology, Nutrition Department, Medical Laboratory Department, Pathology Department, Medical Imaging Department, Ultrasound Department, and Nuclear Medicine Department, and 23 third-level disciplines. It covers an area of 12,000 square meters, with business premises of over 7,000 square meters.
The Center is equipped with advanced large-scale instruments including PET-CT, 128-slice CT, 1.5T MRI, DR, digital gastrointestinal machine, molybdenum-palladium mammography scanner, dual-energy bone densitometer, as well as fully automated biochemical analyzers, fully automated chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzers, fully automated five-part differential hematology analyzers, and automated urine analysis line. The imaging and laboratory tests conducted can meet the needs of hospitals at all levels, and the Center promotes sharing of medical resources and mutual recognition of examination results. Following the "separation of medical examination" design, it provides services including health consultation, health check-ups, imaging and laboratory examinations and diagnostics, expert consultations, health education, and health management.
All medical staff will uphold the fine traditions of Sun Yat-sen University, working together with self-reliance and innovation, and collaborating with all sectors of society to build the most influential imaging and laboratory center in the country within 3 to 5 years. At the same time, starting from health check-ups and using health management as a platform, relying on the scientific and educational resources of Sun Yat-sen University and the technical strength of affiliated hospitals, we will introduce advanced management concepts from Europe, America, Hong Kong, and Taiwan to provide warm, safe, comfortable, and efficient one-stop healthcare services.
