山东省交通规划设计院是以路桥设计为主业的综合性勘察设计单位, 持有公路、特大桥梁、特大隧道、交通工程等项目的工程设计、工程勘察、工程咨询和工程总承包甲级资格证书，水运、工业与民用建筑、市政工程设计乙级资格证书，并被授予交通建设全方位的涉外经营权。至今已建成了一支包括1名中国工程设计大师，1名中国勘察设计优秀企业家、3名中国公路百名优秀工程师、1名交通科技英才、1名山东省工程设计大师、27名工程技术应用研究员、57名高级工程师在内的275人的人才干部队伍，其中国家注册土木（道路）、建筑、结构、咨询、岩土、造价、公用设备工程师等执业人员近60人，单位呈现良好的发展态势。
