Chongqing Jiulongpo District Second People's Hospital, founded in 1958, is a modern comprehensive National Grade II Class A medical institution integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, healthcare, and rehabilitation. It currently has 689 employees and 34 clinical, medical technology, administrative, and logistics departments, with a complete range of disciplines.
In February 2019, the foundation stone of the new hospital of Jiulongpo District Second People's Hospital (Chongqing West District Hospital) was laid in Huayan New City, Jiulongpo District, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, a building area of 160,000 square meters, and more than 1,200 beds, constructed according to the standards of a National Grade III Class A general hospital. At present, the main construction has been fully completed and is expected to be put into use in 2021. By then, the new and old hospital areas will have 1,850 open beds, shouldering the historical responsibility of promoting the development of regional health undertakings.
As a major livelihood project of Chongqing and a *** pilot project for public hospital reform, Jiulongpo District Second People's Hospital (Chongqing West District Hospital) brings together many well-known experts and professors from home and abroad and excellent disciplinary teams from former Third Military Medical University, Chongqing Medical University, and other Grade III Class A teaching hospitals, building cardiovascular disease centers, respiratory disease centers, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics centers, digestive disease centers, bone and trauma centers, and neurological disease centers.
