Hubei Provincial Olympic Sports Center

Hubei Provincial Olympic Sports Center was established in 2009, formerly known as Shouyi Sports Training Center. It possesses the largest and most modern comprehensive sports venue facilities in the history of sports construction in our province. The center is located in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, and is part of the core area of Wuhan Science and Technology New City. The first phase of the center has been completed, covering an area of 1,000 mu, with a total construction area of 200,000 square meters and a total investment of 800 million yuan. It has built first-class domestic training and competition venues and facilities for table tennis, badminton, tennis, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, martial arts, swimming, diving, modern pentathlon, track and field, football, etc. At the same time, it has built supporting facilities such as academic lecture halls, research institutes, rehabilitation centers, national physical fitness testing centers, hotels, catering and entertainment centers. The second phase project is a supporting improvement planning project for the Olympic Sports Center. In May 2011, it was listed in the provincial government's 'Double Ten Project', and will form a contiguous area with the WTA Premier 5 Tournament, namely the Wuhan Optics Valley International Tennis Center, to create China's international tennis capital. The third phase project is the Olympic Sports expansion planning project. On the existing basis, an additional 1,000 mu of land will be requisitioned, concentrating heavy athletics, shooting and football on land into the Olympic Sports Center, while building a sports vocational and technical college to meet the training, competition and living needs of athletes and students. The fourth phase project is the long-term planning of the Grand Olympic Sports and the construction planning project of 'Olympic Sports Park'. The center has a beautiful environment and is a first-class professional sports training base in the country and even Asia, as well as an ideal place for mass fitness, sports tourism and youth inspirational education.
