中心其前身是兰州市第二人民医院中街子综合门诊部,于2001年正式转型为社区卫生服务中心，根据卫生部《城市社区卫生服务机构管理办法（试行）》第17条规定，经批准2010年1月1日为独立法人机构。按社区卫生服务机构设置要求，中心房屋面积为1200.44平方米，设备有Ｂ超、心电图、X光机、化验全套设备、电脑10台、口腔治疗机10台、微波机1台、中药药浴床1张、中药自动叁缸煎药机一台、蜡疗机一台、牵引仪一台、骨伤康复治疗仪20台、电磁治疗仪计5台，神灯2台,滚动电子显视屏1台、电子收费显示屏1台等 。内部实行局域网络化管理。
