醴陵市石溪牲猪养殖农民专业合作社成立于2009年12月，注册资金为200万元。由醴陵市的307户生猪养殖户和生猪屠宰加工龙头企业及当地供销合作社自发入股组建而成，股本结构:株洲市供销合作社出资140万元，出资比例21.34%；湖南湘洲食品有限公司出资240万元，出资比例36.59%；醴陵市湘洲养殖公司出资70万元，出资比例10.67%；农民成员304人出资206万元，出资比例31.40%。是醴陵市*大的生猪专业合作社，合作社通过组织采购、供应成员生猪养殖所需的农业生产资料；组织收购、加工和销售成员的生猪；引进生猪新技术、新品种；开展与生猪养殖有关的技术培训、技术交流和信息咨询服务，辐射带动醴陵市乡镇农户1000多人从事牲猪产业的发展取得了巨大的经济效益和社会效益。
