Chongqing Construction Engineering Eighth Construction Co., Ltd. was established in 1952 (the predecessor of the company was the Southwest Fourth Construction Engineering Company of the Ministry of Construction of the State, later renamed Sichuan Province Eighth Construction Engineering Company; in 1983, after Chongqing was listed as a city under separate state planning, it was renamed Chongqing Eighth Construction Engineering Company). In May 2010, it was restructured into Chongqing Construction Engineering Eighth Construction Co., Ltd. The company is a Grade I general contracting enterprise for housing construction engineering, and holds five Grade I qualifications: municipal public works construction general contracting, earthwork engineering professional contracting, mechanical and electrical equipment installation engineering, building decoration and renovation engineering professional contracting, and steel structure engineering professional contracting; three Grade II qualifications: fire protection facilities engineering professional contracting, airport runway engineering professional contracting, and hoisting equipment installation engineering professional contracting; and two Grade III qualifications: highway subgrade engineering and highway pavement engineering. It is an enterprise certified under the ISO9001 quality system and the integrated certification of quality, environment, and occupational health and safety systems ("three standards in one"). The company has 10 departments and more than 30 engineering project departments, with over 351 professional technical and management personnel of various types, including more than 100 with senior and intermediate titles and more than 60 first- and second-class constructors. The company has assets of nearly 600 million yuan, can independently contract large and medium-sized construction projects at home and abroad, has an annual construction production capacity of more than 1 billion yuan, and a completed project area of more than 1 million square meters. Over more than 50 years since its establishment, the company has provided society with a large number of high-quality projects, model projects, and premium projects in the construction of factories and mines, residential buildings, guesthouses, hotels, scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, airports, municipal works, roads, bridges, machinery, chemicals, instruments, sports venues, and other projects. It has completed a large number of influential key construction projects at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, as well as the three "window projects" of Chongqing Airport, Chongqing Port Building, and Chongqing Railway Station, with high quality and speed.
