本院始建于1950年，系中国重工业湖南雄黄矿6.26医务所，1983年命名为湖南雄黄矿职工医院。1987年更名为湖南雄黄化工有限公司职工医院。2001年企业改制而重组医院，成为一所民营“一级综合医院”。非营利性质。是石门县城镇职工医疗保险定点医院；城镇居民医疗保险首诊医院；新型农村合作医疗定点医院；石门县工伤保险定点医院；常德市工伤保险定点医院。
