Hanyang Special Purpose Vehicle Institute

Hanyang Special Purpose Vehicle Institute was established in 1985. It is a scientific research institution that absorbs the national automobile industry competent department's commissioned nationwide special purpose vehicle technology centralized management work. It is a wholly-owned legal entity directly under the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, and is also the affiliated unit of the Special Purpose Vehicle Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the Special Purpose Vehicle Branch of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, the Special Purpose Vehicle Subcommittee and the Body Accessories Subcommittee of the National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization. Hanyang Institute has under it the Standards and Regulations Department, the Machinery Industry Special Purpose Vehicle Product Quality Inspection Center, the Industrial Development Department, the "Special Purpose Vehicle" Magazine, the Scientific Research and Technology Department and other business departments.
Main business and functions of Hanyang Institute: centralized technical management of China's special purpose vehicle industry; preparation of development plans for the special purpose vehicle industry; formulation (revision) of standards and regulations for special purpose vehicles and body accessories; carrying out testing of special purpose vehicles, commercial vehicles and parts products, and vehicle fuel consumption; carrying out industry consulting services and project feasibility studies; editing and publishing the "Special Purpose Vehicle" magazine; operating China Special Purpose Vehicle Network; organizing and hosting the China International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition and the China Special Purpose Vehicle Industry Development International Forum.
