成立于2000年7月1日，本部座落于中国*大的钢管生产基地——天津大邱庄，是集直缝焊管、螺旋焊管、热镀锌钢管、内衬塑复合管、涂塑复合管、方矩形钢管、热镀锌方矩形钢管等多种管材产品生产于一体的大型钢管制造企业，是目前中国乃至全球*一家千万吨级焊接钢管制造企业。
在总部天津之外，目前公司在唐山、邯郸、陕西等地拥有多家子公司，现有员工1.1万余人，拥有直缝焊管、螺旋焊管、热镀锌钢管、钢塑复合管等各类钢管生产线189条、3个*认可实验室、2个天津市认定企业技术中心、1个焊接钢管技术中心。2019年，生产各类钢管超过1700万吨。截止到2020年年初，全集团已获得授权专利技术140项，其中发明专利18项，实用新型专利122项。
目前，友发钢管集团正在沪市A股上市排队期间，预计年底前完成上市。
