田集工程总投资46．36亿元，其中环保投资5．38亿元，占总投资的11.61%。工程采用低氮燃烧技术，锅炉烟气经双室四电场静电除尘器和石灰石——石膏湿法脱硫装置处理后通过240米高烟囱排放，安装了GGH和烟气连续在线监测系统，并与当地环保部门联网。厂区实行雨污分流，工业废水、生活污水、脱硫废水经处理后全部回收利用，循环冷却水排污水部分排入河流；产生的除尘灰渣及脱硫石膏全部外售综合利用；对各主要噪声源采取了隔声降躁措施。91%被调查公众对该项目的环保工作表示满意或基本满意。
