黄石市建筑设计院始建于1952年，主要从事工业与民用建筑设计，岩土工程，地基处理及工程总承包。1986年，经国家建设部批准，国家计委、城乡部核准，黄石市建筑设计研究院获得工程设计综合甲级资质，1993年国家建设部重新核准为建筑设计甲级、工程勘察甲级。黄石市建筑设计研究院是湖北省东部地区*一家具有此资质的设计单位。2005年企业改制，由黄石市建筑设计研究院更名为黄石市佳境建筑设计有限公司。
