Wuhan Institute of Geology, Resources and Environment Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as "资环工研院") is an enterprise legal entity jointly established by China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and the Wuhan Municipal People's Government. The company was registered and established on September 29, 2013, located in the heart of Wuhan Future Science and Technology City, a vibrant and innovative hot spot and the National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, Optics Valley of China.
　　During the three-year construction period, Wuhan Municipality provided 200 million yuan in construction funds, and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) contributed an equivalent amount in partial cash, research and development equipment, software, technological achievements, and patent use rights. The first-phase construction land of 200 mu is used for scientific research, achievement transformation, and enterprise incubation platform construction. An additional 300 mu of reserved land is planned for industrial development, to be used for industrial clusters and attracting high-tech enterprises. The Institute and the new campus of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) are planned in an integrated manner within Wuhan Future Science and Technology City, seamlessly connecting with various engineering colleges and national, provincial, and ministerial-level research platforms, forming a synergistic effect.
　　The Institute is not only a driver for the innovative development of the technology industry co-built by the municipality and the university, but also a major platform and window for the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements and external industrialization cooperation of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). Relying on the university's advantageous disciplines such as resources, environment, geological equipment, geographic information, and jewelry, the Institute integrates scientific and technological resources both inside and outside the university, introduces global technology and high-end talent from home and abroad, and carries out the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and industrial incubation. From the birth of its first incubated enterprise on April 1, 2014, to date, it has incubated 40 enterprises.
