In 1970, Washi established its factory. In 2004, it was restructured into a private enterprise. In 2006, the second shareholding reform was carried out. In 2008, outdated production capacity was eliminated and old production lines were dismantled, followed by the third shareholding reform, which established Yangluo Cement Company and built new cement grinding production lines. In 2014, Washi Cement Group was established. After 18 years of reform and development, a small cement plant on the verge of bankruptcy with an annual production capacity of less than 300,000 tons was reborn: it now has 60 parent and subsidiary companies, distributed across 4 industrial parks, including Huangshi Yangxin Green Building Materials Industrial Park, Yangluo Port Industrial-City Circular Economy Industrial Park, Wuhan Optics Valley IoT Port Industrial Park, and Sichuan Panzhihua Vanadium-Titanium Wear-Resistant Casting Industrial Park. Its main industries involve the manufacturing of green building materials and vanadium-titanium new wear-resistant materials; investment, development, and operation of technology industrial parks and new energy industries; port logistics trade; and R&D and application of intelligent systems, education, healthcare, and more. It currently has 3,000 employees, 2,000 mu of land, 600,000 square meters of factories and office buildings, 900 meters of Yangtze River shoreline and 8 deep-water dedicated high-pile wharves, and has obtained nearly 400 million tons of mining rights and 600 million tons of exploration rights. The group's total assets are 15 billion yuan, with 230 invention and utility patents. Washi Group has been awarded: Top 100 Chinese Private Building Materials Enterprises (10th), Top 100 Hubei Private Enterprises (60th), Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises (44th), Top 100 Wuhan Private Enterprises (34th), Top 50 Private Manufacturing Enterprises (11th); a national energy efficiency shortlisted enterprise, green factory, garden-style factory, and national building materials enterprise cultural construction demonstration base; a high-tech enterprise, and a Hubei provincial-level specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative "little giant" enterprise.
