After acquiring the packaging ink business of SICPA Holding SA in the second half of 2005, Siegwerk has become the world's third-largest professional ink supplier. Siegwerk China: Siegwerk (Shanghai) Ink Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siegwerk Group, was established at the end of 2005 through the full acquisition of SICPA (Shanghai) Ink Co., Ltd., located in Xinzhuang Industrial Zone, Shanghai. Siegwerk (Shanghai) currently has over 250 employees and an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons, focusing on producing various water-based and solvent-based inks suitable for cigarette packaging, food and beverage packaging; alcohol-soluble inks for flexible packaging, UV inks, and related products. To allow Chinese consumers to truly enjoy 'green' packaging products, we are vigorously promoting low-VOC benzene-free inks, water-based inks, and UV ink products in China. Siegwerk 'Global Innovation Center (GIN)', established in Shanghai in 2008 in response to the personalized needs of local Chinese customers for ink products, was officially put into use in the fourth quarter of that year. The establishment of GIN not only brought advanced ink technology to China but also became the base for Siegwerk talent development. It will further enhance our core competitive advantage: providing customers with timely and effective personalized solutions. In August 2009, Siegwerk Asia Regional Headquarters officially moved to Shanghai, fully reflecting the Group's emphasis on the Chinese market and its determination to expand here.
