Gree Electric Appliances (Wuhu) Co., Ltd. was established on March 29, 2011, located in Sanshan District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai, and is the base planned for export among Gree Electric's nine global production bases. The total land area exceeds 3,400 mu, with the first phase of the project planning a total investment of approximately RMB 3 billion, covering an area of 1,667 mu (about 1.11 million square meters), with a building area of over 720,000 square meters. It plans to employ nearly 10,000 people, with an annual designed production capacity of 6 million units (sets) of air conditioners. Currently, it has over 4,000 employees, of whom more than 200 hold bachelor's degrees or above. It has completed the construction of the final assembly plant, the heat exchange plant, the controller plant, the sheet metal and painting plant, the injection molding plant, as well as 3 finished product warehouses and 5 material warehouses, achieving a daily production capacity of 15,000 units (sets) of air conditioners.
On October 23, 2012, the Wuhu base held an export production launch conference, marking the transition of Gree Electric Appliances (Wuhu) Co., Ltd. from purely domestic sales to simultaneous export production and domestic sales. Currently, the production models include: for domestic sales, mainly air conditioners and air-source water heaters; for export, mainly window units, knock-down kits, and other multi-series export products. These are mainly sold to the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Algeria, and other countries, and the company has established long-term cooperative relationships with enterprises such as GE in the United States. Wuhu Gree is implementing the management policy of "fairness and justice, openness and transparency, and clear separation of public and private interests," organizing production in an orderly manner, gradually expanding export production scale, and aiming to "create a world-class air conditioner enterprise and achieve Gree's century-old world brand," contributing its own strength to Gree Electric's "Chinese Dream."
