Aipai (Guangzhou) Medical Devices Co., Ltd., formerly known as Aipai (Guangzhou) Mold & Machinery Co., Ltd., was formally established in January 2005 in Yonghe Economic Zone, Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is a member of the Medical Division of Marmon Holdings Inc., headquartered in Chicago and a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. In 2007, the company underwent a strategic transformation. In January, it began construction of a new plant covering 4,856 square meters with a total site area of 9,000 square meters at No. 25 Yonghua Road, Yonghe Economic Zone, Guangzhou Development District. Construction was completed in early April 2008, and the relocation was completed that same month, with official production starting in May. Concurrently with the new plant construction, the company name was changed in July 2007. Based on the strategic development plan of the group, the company's operations shifted from mold manufacturing to the design and manufacture of medical devices, including orthopedic (bone) surgical instruments and wound debridement care systems. The company has registered the trademark 'iTool'. In 2006, Aipai successfully passed ISO13485 quality system certification and registered with the U.S. FDA.
