In December 2004, Remy International registered a wholly-owned enterprise in Shajing, Shenzhen: Remy Electric Motors (China) Co., Ltd., with an initial investment of 10 million USD and a building area of over 16,000 square meters. Remy Electric Motors (China) Co., Ltd. is committed to the design, production, and sales of major components such as starters, alternators, and magnetos for sedans, buses, trucks, and motorcycles. In September 2002, Remy International's Shanghai Representative Office was established, located in Shanghai Centre, with main functions including sales, application engineering, and procurement, through which Remy will expand its business in China and Asia and provide professional and efficient services to customers in China and Asia.
Remy Electric Motors (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned enterprise registered by Remy International in Wuhan and will soon become Remy China's headquarters. It has multiple production lines including heavy-duty, light-duty, and hybrid, as well as the Remy China Engineering Design Center. The company is located at No. 528 Houguanhu Avenue, Zhuankou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Wuhan, covering an area of over 2,600 square meters, with an investment of 16 million USD, and is expected to achieve annual sales of over 1 billion RMB by 2015.
