New Coal Chemical Design Institute (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was restructured from the Coking Design Institute of Shanghai Taipingyang Chemical (Group) Company, which was originally affiliated with Shanghai Huayi Group. Established in 1976, our institute is a comprehensive engineering company holding a Class A chemical engineering design certificate and a general contracting (EPC/EPCM) certificate issued by the national construction authority, A1 and A2 pressure vessel and GA/GB/GC pressure pipeline design certificates issued by the national quality supervision and inspection authority, and a Class A engineering consulting qualification certificate issued by the national development and reform authority.

New Coal Chemical Design Institute (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is a chemical design institute with a complete range of professional disciplines. Its organizational structure includes a comprehensive office, a technical quality department, a design department, and an engineering management department. The design department covers specialties such as process, equipment, general layout, civil engineering, instrumentation, electrical, water supply and drainage, HVAC, power, and technical economics. Through over thirty years of development, New Coal Chemical Design Institute (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has established a design team with complete professional support, a reasonable structure, solid technical skills, and a rigorous work style.

To keep pace with the times, after restructuring, the institute re-established its consulting and certification management system and has obtained five system certifications: quality management system, environmental management system, occupational health and safety management system, Sinopec safety, environment and health (HSE) management system, and PetroChina safety, environment and health (HSE) management system.
