Huazhong Port and Shipping Logistics Co., Ltd. was established in August 2014. It is a large comprehensive enterprise formed by Wuhan Xin'gang Construction Investment and Development Group in accordance with relevant deployments of the central, provincial, and municipal governments, with the strategic goal of building a core enterprise of the Yangtze River middle reaches shipping center, through the integration and reorganization of its port and shipping sector enterprises. The company was registered and established as a wholly-owned subsidiary solely funded by Wuhan Xin'gang Construction Investment and Development Group Co., Ltd., and then six affiliated port and shipping enterprises increased capital in the new enterprise with their net assets. The registered capital reached 100 million yuan, and the total number of employees reached 12,077.

It has a warehousing base with a total area of more than 50,000 square meters (another proposed project, Wuhan Han'ou International Logistics Park, has a total land area of 226,349 square meters and is adjacent to the Wuhan Railway Container Center Station in Wujiashan, Dongxihu District), and it has an 8-track dedicated railway line directly reaching the port wharves. It has nearly 50 marketing branches in coastal and Yangtze River central cities in China, and has established good partnerships with enterprises at various coastal and Yangtze River ports. It has long-term transportation contracts with nearly 60 metallurgical, chemical, grain and oil, energy, building materials, electronics, and various high-tech enterprises in China's coastal areas and the Yangtze and Han River basins, and has formed strategic cooperation with large domestic and foreign enterprises such as those in South Korea and Singapore.
