Arup was founded in London, UK in 1946, and now has over 16,000 design, engineering, construction, planning and consulting professionals, with projects in more than 140 countries.
We have over 40 years of development history in China. We established our East Asia headquarters in Hong Kong in 1976, and have successively opened branches in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and Chongqing, bringing together over 2,500 design, engineering, construction, planning, and consulting talents. Our project experience spans various fields of the built environment, including high-rise buildings, large-scale infrastructure, and urban planning.
Here, we have participated in the design of the most iconic buildings, such as the Beijing Olympic venues, Shanghai Expo pavilions, Canton Tower, CITIC Tower (China Zun), Raffles City Chongqing, and Beijing Daxing International Airport.
In recent years, we have also actively built cross-border infrastructure to promote regional economic integration and development. These large-scale projects include the Lok Ma Chau Loop development plan, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.
In China, we have participated in drafting new industry codes and national standards, covering structural engineering, fire engineering, green building, and urban resilience design, to advance industry progress in the long term and promote the sustainable development of the built environment.
