Chongqing Kolbenschmidt Piston Co., Ltd. is a newly established Sino-German joint venture automotive enterprise in Chongqing, mainly producing automotive engine pistons and their components. The company is located in Yufu Industrial Park, Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, and construction began in November 2016, with production starting in July 2017. After the factory was completed, it formed an annual production capacity of 20 million automotive engine pistons. Its main customers include Changan Ford, Volkswagen, General Motors, etc.
Chongqing Kolbenschmidt Piston Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Kolbenschmidt Piston Co., Ltd. Shanghai Kolbenschmidt Piston Co., Ltd. was established in 1997 as a joint venture jointly controlled 50% each by Huayu Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SAIC Group, and Germany's Kolbenschmidt GmbH, mainly producing automotive engine pistons and their components. Shanghai Kolbenschmidt Piston Co., Ltd. is a domestically technologically advanced engine piston supplier and has obtained National High-tech Enterprise certification. In addition to supplying well-known domestic internal combustion engine manufacturers such as Volkswagen and General Motors, some products are exported to OEM markets in Europe and America.
