德宏州第二人民医院位于芒市镇南蚌路87号，总占地面积160亩。隶属州卫生局，系州属事业单位，行政级别为正处级。医院前身为“中国人民解放军云南生产建设兵团第三师医院”，1972年5月由上海市第二人民医院、上海市南市区妇产医院等8所医院的支边医务人员组建而成，1972年9月正式开放收治病人，1974年兵团撤销后，更名为“德宏州农垦分局职工医院”并迁到现址。1980年收归云南省农垦总局管理，称云南省农垦总局第二职工医院。2010年，按照全省农垦体制改革和发展的要求，农垦系统医疗机构逐步移交地方管理。2011年，云南省农垦总局第二职工医院正式移交州政府，并被命名为州第二人民医院。该院是一所集医疗、科研、教学、预防、康复于一休的二级甲等综合医院，综合诊疗水平居州内第二。
