吉凯恩粉末冶金公司（GKN Powder Metallurgy）日前在扬州仪征为其新工厂举行了奠基仪式，以此进一步扩展了该公司在中国的业务。
新工厂位于扬州仪征，耗资2,600万美元，占地面积约为3万平方米。该工厂将于2013年建成，并计划于2013年第四季度投产用于汽车发动机、变速箱、车身及底盘等设备的小型精密零件，每年*多可生产1亿件零部件。
吉凯恩集团总裁Nigel Stein表示：“中国是吉凯恩的一个重要增长市场，也是我们拓展全球业务的重要组成部分，我们很高兴能够进一步拓展在中国的粉末冶金业务。”
吉凯恩集团早在1998年便进入中国市场，目前在中国拥有14家工厂以及约5,000名员工，业务拓展至中国12个地区，日前在中国获得2012年英国公司年度大奖（British Company of the Year Award 2012）。
