镇江开心动物园自2015年10月份开始建设，历经10个月基本建成，新建成的开心动物园位居丹徒区世业洲的开心农场内，占地面积近120亩，现有动物50余种，600余只，既有东北虎、麋鹿、白鹳等国家一级保护动物，也有来自海外的网络神兽---等等。 动物园总体布局是将动物场馆按照北勐、南兽、东禽、西温的格调进行分布，在其中间又点缀有孔雀园、鸵鸟园、百鸟园等专类园。是镇江目前一座集野生动物的易地保护、科普教育、科学研究、休闲娱乐于一体野生动物专类园，也是一个以野生动物为主题的科普教育场所。同时，开心动物园的开园，还将填补镇江大市没有一座动物园的“空白”，缓解镇江市民尤其是青少年的动物“饥渴”。！
